What's New: Butternut Squash Custard Tart

The classic tart shell, made with buttery Pate Sucree (sweet dough), is the starting point for our popular 9" and individual size tarts. While we already offer 19 types of 9" tart and  21 varieties of our individual tart, we are continually at work on developing new variations of this versatile dessert. We have been experimenting with butternut squash fillings. It is similar to pumpkin, but we we feel it has a superior texture and flavor. Tarts made with just the butternut custard have a very subtle and delicate flavor, but what about sage and brown sugar with a hint of lemon, or even a savory version with caramelized onion and Gorganzola cheese? The possibilities are limitless. Please let us know, if you have suggestions.

Sweet Production provides both traditional and innovative bakery products. While our team has perfected such favorites as croissants, apple danishes, chocolate chip cookies, and carrot cake, we also love developing new recipes using fresh ingredients and local produce available in Northern California. We draw inspiration from a variety of cultural and culinary traditions. Our team at Sweet Production also works closely with customers to create custom or specialized offerings.
